(and so does Peter and Ben)
And as all mothers would know, this hasn't dramatically affected my activities for today. Still had to drop Ben at kindy, did 2 loads of washing, put away other clean washing, did grocery shopping, cooked, fed...just did it all with that 'under the weather' feeling. The one major difference was that I didn't go to the gym this morning.

whaddaya mean "still had to drop Ben at kindy"? I usually do that now ;)
Yes. Being a mother does mean that you can't just curl up in bed with a book all day. However having just experienced my first cold as a mother I will say that it does slow you down a bit (only do that which is absolutely necessary). It also mean that the cold lasts for longer & is more severe, & sometimes you hit the wall & have to have a day where all you do is lie in bed or on the couch & only get up when your child needs you.
I don't really find they last for any longer or are more severe - we just get more of them because the kids catch the bug from playing with other kids and then pass it on to us.
And just wait until you have 3 kids under 5 - there is always one that 'needs' you, so I find it easier to be up and doing stuff instead of having to get up off the couch all the time.
Welcome to the real world. Mum
